Employee Spotlight:

Barbara has over 30 years of banking and commercial lending and alternative lending experience. She has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland European Campus.

Barbara enjoys gardening, the Mat-Su Miners baseball games, and being involved in her community. Moving to Alaska was a life-long dream for Barbara. She spent many vacations there "testing" herself for every season - including dog-sledding in February! She fulfilled her dream seven years ago and we are pleased to have her on the Evergreen team.

If you were to start your own small business, what would it be?

I would like to have an old-time soda fountain business. I would name it "Miss B's". It would be furnished with chrome-legged tables and red vinyl booth seats, chrome stools with red vinyl seats at the marble topped counter, authentic antique soda fountain equipment and black and white diamond patterned tile floors. I'd have old ice cream memorabilia and signs. There would be a candy counter with "penny candy". It would be in the quaint downtown of Palmer, Alaska, where I live and would become a gathering place like a soda fountain version of Cheers. I actually keep an old ice cream advertisement on my wall in my office as a reminder of my dream and to remind me that I am working with our borrowers' dreams.

What do you like most about working for Evergreen?

There are so many things that I like about working for Evergreen. I like being specialized in a really great loan product. I get a lot of personal satisfaction from being part of fulfilling the community-minded mission of our company. Most of all, I love the people at Evergreen. The camaraderie here is amazing.

Barbara's coworkers describe her:

"Barbara is the type of Loan Officer that really cares about her clients and their businesses; their success is as important to her as it is to them.  It's only a small part of what makes her a great Loan Officer and a great co-worker.

Barb is always a pleasure to work with!  She is organized, knowledgeable and passionate about her deals.  She has a great can do attitude!

The words I would use to describe Barbara are:  cordial, knowledgeable, professional, responsive, supportive.  In other words, she is a joy to work with!  That is why I think Barbara is such a great Loan Officer.

Barbara shows that she genuinely cares about her borrowers. She is very patient and makes a good effort to get to know the back office staff.

Barbara is 1 in a million - one of the best people you will ever meet. She cares about her co-workers, bankers, borrowers, as well as the local SBA staff. She is a great promoter of Alaska and all it has to offer. You could not ask for a better person in your corner than Barbara!

Barbara is really a pleasure to work with.  She is a real "can do" kind of person, always putting a positive spin on everything.  I'm sure anyone that has the pleasure of working with her can really appreciate her tenacity.  It's all about accomplishing mutual objectives.

Barbara is a wonderful team member to work with. She really cares about her borrowers and Bankers. She is very thorough, provides good explanations and is always helpful."
