Mike is a native Seattleite. He spent 30 years at Seafirst/Bank of America and finished as a Vice President and Manager in Asset Based Lending. Mike also had a short stint as an underwriter in subprime residential real estate lending.
He graduated in both Economics and Sociology from the University of Washington.
His interests include playing basketball, property management and collecting coins and stamps. His family includes wife Teresa, son Kevin and daughter Carly. Mike says he came to us because, "This job is a good fit for me as I want to gain some commercial real estate experience while continuing to help small businesses."
My own small business would probably be a hardware store outside the city. I like to fix and repair things. Another possible choice might be a coin and stamp store as I have been collecting these for quite a while.
A couple of the things I like about Evergreen are 1) it is a small company and your input actually factors into company decisions. It also doesn't take multiple levels of approvals to get decisions made. I have worked for a very large company before where your voice doesn't get heard and approvals take a while. And 2) because it is a small company you can cross train easily and learn the other positions. You have someone to back you up and are able to help others when they need assistance.
"Mike is very pleasant to work with and always seems to have information to share about what's going on in the business market."
"Mike has a good sense of humor - pay attention or you might miss it!"
"He's flexible and adaptive, always pitching in to get the job done."
"Mike always makes himself available to discuss credit or eligibility situations that come up."
"Mike has had experience working with both the underwriting and servicing departments of Evergreen, which makes him very versatile. His flexibility makes him a valuable addition to the team."
