Philip T. Eng

Employee Spotlight:

Phil has been in banking and finance for 40 years.  His career started in eastern Washington in 1971 with Peoples National Bank. That banking experience provided Phil with a broad background in consumer finance and commercial lending as well as bank operations. He also became proficient in agricultural lending at that time. 

Phil later moved to the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area and continued his development with management assignments in credit card processing, mortgage lending and dealer banking. In between those specialized assignments he always returned to commercial lending and/or retail management. His last 5 years in commercial banking was with U.S. Bank as a District Manager in the Tacoma market.

In 1999, Phil moved on to the Certified Development Company (SBA 504 Loan Program) industry.  He is currently the President of Evergreen Business Capital in Seattle.  Evergreen is one of the top CDC's in the nation - with a portfolio of 1,000+ loans and outstanding balances exceeding $500 million. Phil currently serves on NADCO (National Association of Development Companies) Board as their Treasurer. He also serves on the NAGGL (National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders) Region 10 Liaison Committee and on the Board of the Puget Sound Chapter of Risk Management Association (RMA). 

Phil has supported Evergreen's economic development mission through participation in the Washington Economic Development Association where he currently serves on the Board. 

Phil is a graduate of the University of Washington (Finance & Accounting) and the Pacific Coast Banking School. In 1998 Phil retired from the United States Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel with experience in transportation and finance. Phil and his wife Judy reside in Seattle, Washington.
