If you were to start your own small business, what would it be?
I'd love to say that I could have a small business in a creative field being an artist or a craftsperson, but I think my audience would be pretty nonexistent. Also, I'd love to spend time with my animals, so perhaps a business such as a doggie daycare would allow me to do that, but maybe that wouldn't be the best use of my knowledge either. So, being practical, and using my experiences here and elsewhere, I might say something like a bookkeeping services business.
What do you like most about working for Evergreen?
I enjoy meeting the small business owners and learning a little bit about their industries. With each new loan request I get to learn about what they do, who they serve, maybe how they got started in the business and why they're doing what they're doing. I also very much enjoy crunching the numbers and making a deal "work"—ultimately, being able to provide a customer with a loan that they will use to make their business grow.
